Some would call Blaze...different, compared to what you would expect from a pack based around snow. When one thinks of snow, they think of brilliant white coats, tons of fluffy fur to provide warmth, thick and strong legs used to traverse the snow easily, and elements of blizzard and ice. To be blunt, Blaze is the complete opposite of all of that.
With a very dark, slender, and tall appearance, one wouldn't assume that this she-wolf lived in the snow. Her overall torso, thin and nearly sickly in appearance yet healthy, goes against what is assumed of her pack. Some might say that more fur adorns her long, graceful tail than the rest of her body combined. Some wonder how one would survive in the cold with a body like this one, but having the ability to warm oneself with just a single thought comes quite naturally to Blaze, considering she is a wolf of fire.
Her coat, unique in relation to her packmates, is as black as the night sky, yet also as bright as the flames that she controls. Bright orange fur accents the dark, streaks stretching from her nose to around her eyes, the insides of her ears, her paws, and her tail. Yet all of this doesn't compare to the remainder of her markings which reside on her head. Many small dots, bright and yellow in color, are scattered across her forehead and down her muzzle, standing out even more than the orange of her pelt. Some compare these dots to stars in the night sky, while others say that they appear to be sparks flying from a fire. And then there are her eyes, which have, at times, frightened others who hadn't seen them before. Nearly the same orange as the markings on her fur, her eyes are one of the first things to catch the attention of those around her, not only for the bright color, but also for the lack of one thing that nearly all others have; pupils. Black ones, at least. Rather than the same black voids that others have, Blaze's appear to be red, complimenting the orange perfectly. In all honesty, if looks really could kill, Blaze would have a long list of those that had suffered at the stare of her eyes.
Powers
Minor-
As a wolf of fire, Blaze's body is naturally quite warm and easily deflects the cold, but that isn't much of a power. In terms of minor powers, there are really quite a few, but all of them are very small and can only be done once at a time. One, for example, is that she can breathe flames, which might sound like a lot, but it isn't like a dragon or anything. She can do so when she pleases, but the fire remains in her mouth unless she breathes outwards, even then only going a very small distance before fading away. Another example is that she can catch her paws on fire, but can only do so for maybe 30 minutes, if not less, before they fade. Probably one of the most powerful minor abilities she has is being able to catch her tail on fire, which can actually burn a wolf if they were to touch it. She can only keep it this way for a little bit, though.
Major:
If you want to be very dramatic about her major power, you could say that she becomes a big ball of flames. But she doesn't really become fire, she just becomes surrounded completely with it. It stays around her kind of like a barrier, badly burning any who touch her. Her speed is slightly increased and she is able to occasionally make the fire branch away from her and aim at whichever wolf she is looking at, but she can only do this a few times during her time on fire. When her major power does ware off, this is the one time when she can become susceptible to the cold and is more weak and tired than normal, even though she tries to hide it.
Personality
While one would say that Blaze's appearance doesn't quite fit the idea of snow, her personality reflects it perfectly. She can be described as a very serious and cold wolf who has never been seen playing or slacking off. She is very business-like and almost military in her daily life, focusing strictly on her duties to the pack and on keeping others in line. Many see her as uptight and far too focused on what she is told she has to do, while others respect her for her devotion to doing what she must to keep the pack alive and safe. She doesn't often grow truly close to any of her packmates, nor does she seem to have a soft spot for any particular wolves. Except for the Alpha. The only wolf that she has ever visibly softened up around or really even smiled around was Arctic. There have been some wolves in the past that thought that Blaze had a romantic interest in the Alpha, but there has never been any proof of this. Despite what others think, there is only one other type of wolf that she really does soften around, and that is pups. There are only maybe one or two wolves in existence that know that she really adores pups, one of whom is the Alpha. She almost seems to transform from an army commander to a large teddy bear when in the presence of pups. But she never allows anyone to see this, for she doesn't want to be seen as weak in any form.
History
As one could easily guess, Blaze wasn't born in the Southern Snow pack. She was actually born to a non-pack mother and an Eastern Rock father, which is a bad combination, really. She was born a little bit before Eastern Rock when on their siege, which was awful timing. Her father, who already had to sneak out of the pack to see his family, now had to make a difficult decision. Help his pack in the fight or make sure his family stays safe during it. His loyalties lied with both of them, but his mate had no desire to join his pack and he had no wish to leave. At the last moment, one of his good friends, a co-alpha of the pack, told him that he wasn't allowed to leave the pack's side during the fight. He wanted to leave and see his family, but he had eyes watching him everywhere. So, he followed his pack into the fight.
During this, a group of Eastern Rock wolves were running through the area that his family was hidden in. Mother was scared and tried to stay as far into the den as she could to avoid confrontation, but they were found by one wolf who just so happened to peak in. The wolf reached in and grabbed onto two of Blaze's siblings, yanking them out of the den. One of them, the runt of the litter, smacked his head off of the ground, killing him quickly. The other pup, the oldest, froze in place, tail between his legs. While the wolf was distracted with him, mother quickly grabbed Blaze and the other pup and bolted for it. By now, though, two of the other wolves had returned and began to chase after her.
She had to run for what felt like forever, the Eastern wolves not giving up their chase. When she reached a branch of the main river in the Western Skies, she knew she had to swim across, but doing so with two pups would be terribly difficult. She had to make a hard choice. She left one of her pups at the shore of the river and crossed with the other. When she reached the other side, however, she turned to find that one of those wolves already had a hold of the pup she had left behind. Tears in her eyes, she ran with her remaining pup as far as she could. She had probably ran for a few days at this point, bringing hunger to both her and her pup. When she reached the Southern Snow territory, she knew she had to stop. She laid down in the snow, her pup curled up in her tail beside her. She was tired. She was weak. She couldn't leave her pup to hunt. There wasn't anything she could do.
Luckily, not too long after she collapsed, a Southern Snow wolf showed up near the border. As sad as it made her, without a word she picked up her pup and placed it at the wolf's paws. Not a single word passed between either of them, for the situation was self-explanatory. The Southern wolf picked up the little pup and turned, leaving the weak mother behind.
She didn't fit in for obvious reasons. Blazepup was very different from the other pups. While many of the others had white or gray fur, she had pure black and orange. Not only that, but while the other pups easily jumped through the snow without any problem, she would merely melt it when she entered it. She didn't have very many friends as she grew up, except for one. One pup in particular she found she could relate to. He was a small wolf, similar to she, and he was suppose to become one of the future nurses because of some event, though she never knew what that was. She only knew that his name was Arctic and that was all. She had sort of become friends with him, but friends would be a little bit of a broad term. It was also around this time that she learned that "he" wasn't really the right term to use, for he wasn't really male or female. Despite this, she had seen him as a male when they met and as they grew up, so she always referred to him as such.
When she started training to become a Solider, she didn't see him very often, for she was out training as much as she could. Being not only a pure black wolf but also a wolf of fire, she had a lot more work to do in finding how to fit in with snow. Occasionally, though, she would see Arctic out and about. They wouldn't speak to each other, but they still had a mutual understanding. It was when Blaze got quite talented in her ability to traverse through snow and blend in with her surroundings that she actually got to spend some time with Arctic. During this time, she would help him train, even though her methods were different than his. They spent a bit of time together before they became Soldiers, growing closer. During their time as Soldiers they would talk all the time and saw each other every day. But eventually this sort of wore off when he became a co-alpha. In a way, you could say that his promotion made her feel inferior to him and unable to be around him anymore, since she wasn't exactly a prime example of a Southern Snow wolf. When he became an Alpha, though, he reminded her that they were still friends. He had been her only friend ever since she got to the pack, so of course she felt a need to protect him. That feeling alone was what brought her to becoming his "guard" of sorts.
