Personality
Basilfur goes where her mind and heart takes her. She is not loyal to anyone herself (extremely independent), and only listens to her gut feelings and the voices in her head. Unlike Winterspark, her brother, she is a strong believer in fate, and always thinks that destiny has lead to where she is now. She is very religious and follows SparkPack with all her heart. Basilfur does not question any results, and only accepts what has happened, and moves on with her life. An adventurous, open she-wolf, Basilfur loves to go on adventures, explore new things, and hear new ideas. However, a recent "talk" with Winterspark (OOC) has shaken her up a little. No longer is she the fluff-brained little she-wolf; she has gotten a little more mature and has decided to take life more seriously. Basilfur has finally utilized her intelligence to become a smarter she-wolf who actually thinks things through. She has also been a hard worker throughout her whole life.
She has become more sassy with her talk, and more stubborn in her ideas. Once she latches onto a thought, it's hard to let go. Perhaps she's taking Winterspark's way of thought a little too seriously. Basilfur doesn't like anyone who challenges her ideas, and it's easy for the hot-headed warrior to get annoyed.
Despite this, Basilfur is very nice to her friends and strangers, and tries to be as compassionate as possible. She is willing to walk by anyone's side (though they might find her annoying) and talk with them. No one, however, "owns her," so the moment someone starts to seem too possessive, she'll flee.
Positives: Open, smart, compassionate, hardworking
Negatives: Sassy, stubborn, hot-headed
Neutrals: Adventurous, religious, independent
History PUPHOOD
Basilpup's life in Southern Snow started out pretty badly. Although she had two loving parents, her brothers Thrushpup and Goldenpup didn't bother to put up with her. They ignored her completely, seeing as she was small and had trouble keeping up, and Basilpup was left to her own devices. Seeing as they were just about the only pups in the nursery, she literally had no friends, except for the elders and some young apprentices who took pity upon this lonely, runty she-pup who was, in truth, sweet but extremely annoying.
APPRENTICESHIP
Basilcub's mentor wasn't too bad, but he wasn't much of a friend, either. She became friendly with her new denmates, they were all too old for her anyway. Early into her apprenticeship, Basilpup's mother gave birth to a second litter, this time with a new wolf she'd gotten friendly with. Her two brothers weren't thrilled to have new siblings-- however, Basilpup was ecstatic, especially about the fact that two of them were she-pups.
Unfortunately, it was winter and both she-pups were born dead, and the remaining runty male was named winterpup after the current season. By pure coincidence, he turned out to be a cold-powered wolf. Basilpup took this chance to make a friend and swooped in, visiting the newborn Winterpup as much as she could. They became fast friends, but as she got deeper into training her time with her baby brother was limited. Time passed, and Winterpup turned to his nurserymates for company instead. Eventually, she began to look across the border, wondering what life in Northern Islands could be like.
A week later, she got in trouble for snooping over the border. Understanding her mistake, Basilpup sulked for a day and tried to make amends with the Pack that already disliked her. However, upon witnessing the fact that Winterpup's adventure outside camp with his friend had been done with impunity, she became frustrated and angry. Oh, so two puppies sneaking out of camp wasn't something bad? A week before Winterpup's apprentice ceremony and her due warrior ceremony, Basilcub fled Southern Snow and joined Northern Islands.
Not knowing that she was going to be a warrior soon, Basilcub was forced to re-learn many parts of training, easily becoming one of the oldest apprentices in Northern Islands. She did this happily, eager to see what Northern Islands had to offer. The fish wasn't bad, and she had begun to miss the meadow, at least she was away from her brothers! Gradually, she earned the respect of her adopted Pack through her hard work. She was one of the fastest wolves in Northern Islands, having inherited her father's sprinting skills, and she finally mastered her powers with the help of her new mentor.
WARRIORHOOD
Within two moons, she became Basilfur, soldier of Northern Islands. When Cinderspark announced her joining at the next Congregation, her two brothers, Thrushleap and Goldenfox, promptly disowned her. Her loyalty had thwarted, and they wanted nothing more to do with her. This wasn't that bad for her, either.
However, back at camp, Wintercub was heartbroken. He tried many times to contact her, looking for her at every Congregation, and peeking across the border to try to find her. He even went as far as to try to sneak into Northern Islands's stronghold and bring her back, he was caught at the border and disowned by his brothers, too. Basilfur, unaware of this, continued to live happily.
Later, Wintercub became Wintermaple, and then deputy. Basilfur, who, admittedly, had forgotten about him only remembered when Bravespark announced his position at a Gathering. Excited, Basilfur came forward to congratulate him-- only to have him give the cold shoulder. Loyalty was everything now. He didn't exactly disown her, it came extremely close and Basilfur was beginning to regret going to Northern Islands. At least, if she had stayed, she would still have some family.
Moons passed, and although Wintermaple was at every Congregation she was at, it was as if the two had never met. They talked in separate groups, sat apart from each other, and eventually forgot about each other completely. Then, when Wintermaple became leader, he suddenly spotted his long-lost sister from across the pond shore, and remembered the sad night when he had turned away from her.
Moving towards Basilfur, the two had looked at each other with uncertainty and wariness, as if a hundred years had passed between them. Eventually, they reconciled, through outbursts and apologies, explanations and forgiveness.
